Tucson Strip Clubs: War, What Is It Good For? Three Points!

… When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” – Corinthians 13:11
Last night, I visited the BBC News website for the first time in a week. Imagine my surprise on learning that, while I was busy hanging out with strippers and watching 80s boy-band stars in Vegas, I missed the entire federal government almost being shut down.
That insulation from reality is both a problem and a selling-point for this town: what doesn’t happen in Vegas stays outside Vegas.
And so it was with some interest that, during my news catch-up, I spotted the headline on PBS’s Idea Lab: “Why Are Newsrooms Resistant to Creating Newsgames?“ In a well-argued post, Chris O’Brien outlines various reasons why news organisations should explore ways to include elements of videogaming into their reporting.

Tiger Woods should be very unhappy that Johnny Miller recently compared him to Mike Tyson. Buster Douglas should be absolutely miserable about it.
Miller equated Douglas’ shocking 1990 upset of Tyson to Woods’ career-hobbling marital infidelities. Whatever his shortcomings as a boxer, Douglas did hold the heavyweight crown for eight months. He deserves better than to be equated with Woods’ libido and the assorted strippers who blabbed about him.
The only rational explanation for the analogy is that Miller watched “The Hangover” recently and couldn’t get the scenes about Tyson’s tiger out of his mind. Otherwise, the connection seems unaccountable. Or the NBC analyst thinks th …

Tucson Strip Clubs: Tucson strip club’s liquor license transferred to new owner

Tucson strip club’s liquor license transferred
By Dale Quinn, Arizona Daily Star Arizona Daily Star | Posted: Friday, February 4, 2011 11:59 am
The Arizona State Liquor Board approved a license transfer for a Tucson strip club that was the site of two deadly shootings in 2009.
The board voted 7-0 Thursday to transfer The Candy Store’s license from previous owner Steven M. Carringer to Corey D. Owens, who will operate the club through a corporation called Whitefeather Ventures LLC.
At a hearing in December, the liquor board delayed approving The Candy Store’s license transfer due to public opposition of the application and because the City Council recommended it not be approved.
Last year, the strip club’s owner agreed to pay two fines totaling $90,000 for violations that included repeated acts of violence, selling or using drugs on the premises and one count of a prohibited sex act, according to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.

Tucson Strip Clubs: A pole new world

The U.S. has been slower than Europe, Australia and other nations to accept pole fitness because, as McCain puts it, “everybody is deathly afraid that we are a stripper school, (but) I’m not a stripper. I’ve never danced in a club, and we don’t really train girls to do that.”
Instead, McCain and her group of four teachers — operating out of two Tucson locations — provide a serious workout in an innovative format. Drawing students interested in weight loss as well as those with dance, gymnastics and figure skating backgrounds, Tucson Pole Fitness caters to all corners of the community except, perhaps, men.

“Women want to be sexy, they want to learn how to walk in high heels, they want to move their hips … they don’t want to be strippers, but they want to be women,” McCain said.

ESCAPE THE FATE’s self-titled album sold 18,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 25 on The Billboard 200 chart. The video for the CD’s first single, “Issues”, was directed by Paul R. Brown, who has previously worked with STONE SOUR, SLIPKNOT, MÖTLEY CRÜE, KORN, GODSMACK and AVENGED SEVENFOLD.
ESCAPE THE FATE’s “City Of Sin” video can be viewed below. The clip was filmed last month at the group’s raucous record-release party at famed Los Angeles strip club Crazy Girls and it showcases ESCAPE THE FATE at its incendiary best flanked by sexy lingerie-clad dancers.

Tucson Strip Clubs: Strippers demand justice at Tucson City Council meeting

Strippers demand justice at Tucson City Council meeting
Tonight’s Mayor and Council meeting had strippers from the Bunny Ranch show up to protest the raising of the stripping age to 21.
About half a dozen citizens and female taxpayers exercised their First Amendment rights and told the council that they are strongly opposed to the ordinance, and made some really good points.
At the age of 18, US citizens are legally considered adults, and they will be tried as adults if they break the law. They are allowed …
