Tucson Adult Entertainment: Tucson ex-schools chief sentenced for child porn
A former superintendent of a Tucson school district was sentenced to more than eight years in federal prison Thursday after attempting to book a “sex tourism” visit with a teenage boy and for possession of child pornography.
Albert Thomas Rogers, 52, pleaded guilty in November to allegations he attempted to travel to Mexico to have sex with a 13- or 14-year-old boy, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Rogers arranged the visit with an undercover U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, whom Rogers paid to cover travel expenses. Officials say Rogers also admitted owning child pornography.
In June 2009, authorities served a search warrant on Rogers’ home and uncovered nearly 1,000 images and 100 video files depicting children “engaged in sexually explicit conduct,” authorities said.
Rogers was a school superintendent at the Tanque Verde School District when he was arrested.
