Earl Pennington calls himself the “male stripper” because that’s what he does, sort of, when it comes to antiques, furniture and grandfather clocks.
By stripping, sanding, staining, polishing, refinishing and reassembling the pieces, Pennington does away with the worn and sometimes beaten up layers of beloved family heirlooms as well as store-bought pieces that a collector just had to have.
Accustomed to refinishing chests and bureaus, tables and chairs and other household pieces, Pennington recently took on a challenge that was out of the ordinary for a stripper like him.
